species of owl, The Tawny Owl, COLOR CHANGE FOR CLIMATE CHANGE.
An owl species changes color to survive the warmer weather, say scientists in a recent Finnish study with data collected over the life of these animals during the last 30 years.
These are tawny or tawny owls common with hereditary gray color in their feathers, now have a brown tone, the authors note in the latest edition of the journal Nature Communications. The tawny brown
constituted 30 percent of the population of tawny owls in Finland. However, now 50, said Patrik Karell, author of the study. Strix aluco
As cold winters were less improved survival. Selection based on the weather caused an evolutionary change in the population, he said.
Climate change could in some species reduce the number and variety of inherited characteristics, the specialist said, referring to those results.
More than 20 species of owls live in different places on the planet, the larger are the cuckolds.
